    Teresex Pride Flag

    Teresex, also known as nullo or smoothie, is a sex characteristic where one voluntarily had their genitals and sex organs fully removed, or was born with no sexual organs or genitals. Not all teresex individuals are transgender, but some may be apothigenital or do it voluntarily for religious reasons. The removal doesnt always include the breasts or nipples, but sometimes it does. while the procedure is typically done by men, some women, and non-binary individuals also have it done.[1][2]

    This overlaps with a few terms, such as angenital (however, is specific for those who have had their genitals removed fully instead of the desire), intersex (for those specifically born without any genitals or sex organs, also known as agenital or sexless) and altersex (those who have altered their sex to remove their genitals and sex organs, such as angonadal).[3]

    History and Explanation

    "Smoothing" or genital nullification, is typically done by men who are eunuchs, more commonly in Asia. The earliest records for intentional genital nullification to produce eunuchs are from the Sumerian city of Lagash in the 21st century BC. Over the millennia since, they have performed a wide variety of functions in many different cultures, such as courtiers, treble singers, religious specialists, soldiers, royal guards, government officials, and guardians of women or other reasons. As of recent however, genital nullification has been seen as a body modification sought after by some non-binary or apothigenital folks. Some doctors refuse to do the surgery, however, due to the idea of "maiming the patient". Male patients will typically have their testes. phallus. prostate and seminal vesicles removed and replaced by a catheter, and less commonly, take estrogen pills or testosterone blockers, have their nipples removed or other procedures. Female patients will typically have their clitoris removed, labia sutured, uterus and vagina removed, and sometimes their breasts.

    The term Teresex and flag were coined on January 25th, 2021 by FANDOM user Zer0Rebel4, however the term nullo and smoothie have been around for decades. Lavender represents those who are binary and teresex, grey represents those who are non-binary, intersex or other gendered and teresex. The green X represents not having sexual organs or genitalia, the purple minus sign represents balance and acceptance.
