Hey! No worries, most of us are on this same journey too. I always thought I was broken because I didn't date or if I did it was really awkward, until I read about Demisexuals and then it's like a puzzle piece snapped into place! Demisexuals and Demiromantics ARE part of the LGBTQIA+, or as I like to call SAGA (sexuality and gender acceptance), community! Demis generally fall under the Asexual end of the sexuality/romantic spectrums. We're not totally Ace but we're in that grey area between full Ace and the rest of the spectrum. And! You can be Demisexual and other sexualities. So I'm Demisexual and Bisexual (99% straight but there's this ONE TYPE of woman that makes my brain go nuh-UH girl you gay). Demi just puts that little notifier to anyone else that you need a deep and abiding bond before you can be intimate either physically or romantically with someone. It is ABSOLUTELY okay, YOU are ABSOLUTELY perfect just as you are, and don't let anyone make you feel like you aren't part of the community, because Demis are legit! Sometimes discovering these identities is freeing because you're putting a name to something you've felt for your whole life. But don't feel like you have to pick something and just stick to it either. We are constantly changing beings so our concepts of gender, sexuality and romantic preferences will possibly change over time too. Sorry for word vomiting on you, but I hope this helped somewhat. I just wanted to let you know you're not alone and you are doing just fine! :)
