    The speculosean flag.

Speculosean is a scenegender in the Scene System that feels detached and reflective. It can be described using the following imagery: "a large, still lake rests unsullied under a pure midnight sky. No moon rests in the sky, and stars seem far away. The lake feels cold, dark, and impossibly large, even when you can see the whole thing. A look inside will render the viewer's truest intentions manifest by the calculating nature of the lake, as it sits, pure and lonely." It may feel like the glint off of a shard of obsidian, or a glacier of dark ice. It may feel like unnerving calmness and unexpected clarity, coupled with a dark, unsettling feeling.

    History

Speculosean was coined by Fandom user Heisenberg laws on July 7, 2021.[1]

    Flag

The speculosean flag was created by Fandom user Heisenberg laws on July 7, 2021.[2] The two black stripes represent the darkness of the scenegender, and the singular white stripe represents clarity and purity. The use of the two black stripes and different purple and blue stripes on either sides of the white one represent a reflective or mirror-like feeling.[1]

    Etymology

Speculosean comes from the Latin word for mirror, 'speculo.'[3][1]
