Solaic is a form of alterous attraction founded upon a mutual bond of comfort and understanding. Unlike platonic attraction in which a friendship is sought, solaic attraction desires a bond only understood through a deep, emotional connection with another individual that is founded upon safety and positivity. Those in solaic relationships may feel as if it is easier to confide within their solar than it is within most platonic relationships, even though they may value their solaic relationship as equal to their friendships. The relationship between solars may be quite difficult to describe, but it feels somewhat distinct from any experiences (or lack thereof) with platonic relationships.
