Preaplatonic is an apl-spec identity. It refers to someone who may feel a platonic attraction, but:
- They may feel it only when they physically meet them
- They may only feel it for a really short period of time (for example, it might only last for a few minutes or hours)
- It was just a quick thought that vanished afterwards
- They lost that attraction to them due to their personality, their way of speaking, etc
This may overlap with Gray-platonic and other platonic identities, but this microlabel is specific for individuals who feel platonic attraction but for a really short time or they may identify with the other definitions of this term. It can also overlap with "jump" and "spike", but the thought can remain for a couple hours or more.
Preaplatonic can be an orientation on its own or it can be combined with other platonic orientations, such as panplatonic (prea-panplatonic), meaning that one may experience platonic attraction as described above, and when they do it's regardless of gender.
The counterparts are:
Preaaesthetic: having a short aesthetic attraction for someone, but it disappeared.
Prearomantic: having a short romantic attraction for someone, but it disappeared.
Preasexual: having a short sexual attraction for someone, but it disappeared.
Preasensual: having a short sensual attraction for someone but it disappeared.

Preaplatonic etymology is derived from the Latin word "Prea" meaning "Before".
