    The papiliogender flag
The papiliogender flag, with a lighter coloured moth in the center

Papiliogender is a xenogender (specifically a faunagender) in which ones gender feels strongly connected to moths and mothcore. It may be classified as a kingender, but is not exclusively for the use of otherkin beings, and is more commonly associated with noungenders and aesthetigenders.

    History

Papiliogender was coined on March 21st, 2021, by wiki FANDOM user Mycosst,[1] as a way to fill the lack of moth related xenogenders. There is a gender in existence called mothgender, but it is a mutogender and not related to the animal moth.

    Etymology

Papilio is a Latin word meaning ‘moth or butterfly’,[2] and as there is already a mothgender in existence, the word papilio was used instead.

    Flag

the papiliogender flag features seven (7) horizontal stripes and the icon of a whitish grey moth with grey spots in the center. The stripes are various shades of dull browns, purplish greys, and an creamy off white, chosen to represent the colours of commonly spotted moths in the midwestern, suburban areas of America, such as Minnesota and Michigan.
