    The orientated flag.

Orientated, or oriented, is a term used to describe an individual's experience with attraction which does not specify the form of attraction being experienced.

Orientated may be used as a suffix to describe one's orientation when an individual does not want to or does not feel the need to specify what forms of attraction they are experiencing. It may also be used to describe an individual's experience with tertiary attractions that they feel are important enough to their identity to label alongside their romantic and sexual attractions.

Alternatively, orientated may be used as a stand-alone label without further description of the experienced attraction, optionally making orientated unlabeled. In this case, orientated would imply that the individual experiences an attraction, but would not elaborate on what form of attraction it is or who it is felt towards.

    Etymology

Oriented takes inspiration from the related aroace term, oriented aroace.[1]

    History and Flag

Orientated and its flag were coined and created by Tumblr user libragender on December 15, 2020.[2]

In the flag, yellow represents platonic attraction; light purple, sensual attraction; blue, alterous attraction; and dark teal, tertiary attraction in general.
