Nyctogender is a colorgender where one's gender is pure darkness. It could also be a gender consisting of darkness or relating to it. One who is nyctogender could also feel darkness validates their gender. This can be used as a prefix for other genders such as nyctoboy, nyctogirl, nyctononbinary, and so on.
History
This term was coined on or before September 27, 2014 on Tumblr account MOGAI-Archive by user wynter-caelum.[1][2]
Flags
The first flag was created on September 7, 2015 by Pride-Flags on DeviantArt.[3] The flag's color meanings are currently unknown. The second pride flag was created by an unknown user on or before September 15, 2016.[4] The flag's color meanings are currently unknown.
The Nyctoboy and Nyctogirl flags were created by DeviantArt user Pride-Flags on May 28, 2018.[5][6] Both of the flags' color meanings are currently unknown.
Etymology
The prefix nycto- is an alternative form of nyct- which is derived from the Ancient Greek prefix "νυκτ-" which means "night" or "darkness."[7]
