Mutasexual is a multisexual identity in which an individual is attracted to all genders and has a preference that changes in relation to one's gender.
The change in either preference or gender can be miniscule but there is a difference and a notable link between them, one that is usually somewhat consistent, though it does not have to be. The change can also go the opposite way where your gender shifts in relation to your sexuality (ex: attracted to men at your most masculine so you shift to be masculine when your crush is a man)
This can either be blurry and hard to pinpoint, or easy to categorize in some way. Mutasexual can also include varying places on the asexual and allosexual spectrums in a way similar to myrsexual or aceflux but in relation to gender, apart from the gender one is more attracted to. (ex: more queerplatonic in nature when deminonbinary)
It can also be explained as a mix between novosexual and omnisexual, since there is link between the change in sexuality, and the change in gender, but it specifies being attracted to all genders and having a preference. Mutasexual differs from novosexual because the shift in gender and/or sexuality is not whole, and the individual is always attracted to all genders regardless of their own current gender experience.
This can also be mixed with other sexualities, such as polysexual (mutapolysexual), to indicate an attraction to three or more genders that changes or fluctuates with their gender.
This term is not to be confused with Mutosexual despite the similar name, Mutosexual refers to one's attraction changing day-to-day, whilst Mutasexual refers to attraction to all genders and changes closely to the individual's gender.
History
Mutasexual was coined by Tumblr user rhythmsancat on December 5th, 2020[1]. It was later added to the LGBTA wiki until the term's coiner asked for it to be removed but later decided to add it to the wiki again.
Flag
The flag was made by rhythmsancat when the term was coined. The flag was designed to have extended ombre resembling the omnisexual flag, and uses colors from both the novosexual and omnisexual flags. The first, third and fourth stripes come from the omnisexual flag. The white in the middle, second blue stripe, and third pink stripe come from the novosexual flag. The first second and fourth pink stripes are inverse of the blue stripes.
