Melangender is a mixture of squashgender, genderfocus, gendersoup, and plaisgender. It is a subset of multigender. It can have multiple definitions, and one may identify with all of these definitions, or a multitude of them. Someone who is melangender may feel:
- As if they have a more prominent gender at times rather than constantly being multiple genders at once. These prominent genders could also be a mixture of any of the genders: squashgender, genderfocus, gendersoup, and plaisgender.
- As if certain things affect their prominent gender. This could range from certain activities they do, to hobbies, or anything else.
- As if some of their multiple yet static genders are ‘blurred’ in a sense, or mashed together; however, there is still a distinction between some of their labels.
- Like their multiple gender labels have been ‘squashed’ together but are still able to distinguish their multiple labels.
The aligned counterparts of melangender are mefangender (feminine-aligned), memangender (masculine-aligned), menangender (neutral-aligned), mexangender (xenine-aligned) and mebangender (androgynous-aligned).
