Genderwhat, also called neuroquoigender, is the inability to understand the concept of gender or of having a gender, due to neurodivergence. Genderwhat individuals may also identify as neurogender.
”-what” can be used as a suffix for other genders as well. Some examples are: girlwhat, boywhat, intergenderwhat, etc.
Quoigender may be considered a non-neurodivergent-exclusive version.
History
The symbol was created by Tumblr user mourningmogaicrew on August 13th, 2021 and is based off the other gender symbol and the wavy line on the genderwhat flag.[1]
The alternate term neuroquoigender was coined on April 11th, 2024 by The A Collective on Discord.
