A 5-striped vertical flag, with the colours, from left to right, being: dark grey almost black, a dull cyan, dull indigo, off-white centre stripe, medium grey, dull purple and a final dark grey stripe.
    Original Genderveer flag.

Genderveer is a gender that, when reflecting on it, suddenly veers off into another, completely different gender to what it was originally, almost as if it is rebelling and potentially even sentient as it feels as if it has a mind of its own. This gender may feel aggressive, mischievous or feel as if one has gained a sudden burst of uncontrollable energy.

This gender is not limited to masculine, feminine or neutral gender alignments and it can be used to express any gender identity one wants.

A 5-striped vertical flag, with the colours, from left to right, being: dark grey almost black, a dull cyan, dull indigo, off-white centre stripe, medium grey, dull purple and a final dark grey stripe. This flag, however, has the first dark grey stripe and middle off-white stripe criss-cross over the middle of the flag to form an 'X' shape.
Additional Genderveer flag, with two stripes forming an X over the top.

The two criss-crossing off-white and dark grey stripes present in the alternate version of the Genderveer flag, are used to represent the act of the gender veering off into a gender that is different to the one previously acknowledged. The white and black are used to show how the base gender is now ‘different’, as black and white are direct opposites. Both neutral and cool shades are used to show how the gender transfers from a ‘neutral’ state (the grey-green stripe) of gender to a completely different state (the cool colours; purple, indigo, cyan) of gender.

Additionally, the different shades of grey and black are used to represent the previous gender, whereas the chaos of the colourful stripes symbolise how the gender changes suddenly and without warning - a sudden splash of colour in an otherwise monochrome colour palette.

    History

Both the label and the flag were created by Discord user prof.mono#7624[1] on 20th September 2022, and later posted publicly by Tumblr user prof-mono[2] on that same day.
