    Gender+ flag

Gender+ or Genderplus refers to a gender which fits the descriptions of many genders, but is actually just one complex, big gender. Since so many gender descriptors describe the gender, one may pick a label that one thinks represents their gender the best and add "+" to show that it is described as that gender plus others. It is not the same as being polygender, because one does not experience separated genders, one experiences one gender that fits multiple gender descriptors. Individuals may also be polygender though, ie. bigender (maverique+ and girl).

    Its counterpart is gender−.

    Subtypes

    • Boy+ or boyplus: Boy+ is when someone is entirely a boy/man plus other genders.
    • Girl+ or girlplus: Girl+ is when someone is entirely a girl/woman plus other genders.

    History, Flags and Symbols

The terms gender- and gender+ were coined by DeviantArt user pastelmemer at unknown time.[1] The earliest known mention of the term was in a post of different gender labels from November 9th, 2017.[2] As of November 21st, 2017 the term had no flag or symbol[3] and no coining post has been found for the flag but it's possible that the flag was created by Fandom user Strawbarrow110 who added it to this wiki page.[4]

The alternate gender+ flag was made by Tumblr user felix-makes-flags on December 11th, 2021.[5]

Boy+ and it's flag and symbol were created by Tumblr user moonviewcrew on May 27th, 2021.[6] An improved version of the flag was created was Tumblr user neopronouns on the same day. Girl+ and it's flag and symbol were created by neopronouns on May 30th, 2021.[7]
