The flag was coined by Tumblr user xeno-aligned on November 30th of 2020. The geisthausia flag has four triangular stripes pointing upwards. The innermost triangle is pale reddish grey. The second stripe is pale red. The third stripe is a dusty blue-grey. The final stripe is a dark midnight blue.
The colors and design are evocative of a house-shaped structure, surrounded by night-time colours.The blues also represent spirits and ghosts, and the reddish colours represent the haunted house and the dead who inhabit it.
Etymology
Geisthausia comes from the german word Geist, meaning ghost/spirit and Haus meaning house.
