Furrygender is a xenogender that has multiple definitions:

1. A gender that can only be described as one's fursona
2. A gender identity related to (enthusiasm for) anthropomorphic mammals
3. A person dedicates their life into being a furry, considering themselves as an animal and wanting to incorporate that into their identity

This gender can be a kingender related to one's fursona, but does not have to be.

History

This term has been coined twice, presumably without knowledge of the other. The first time this term was coined on December 18, 2017 by beyond-batpanda-pride-flags on Tumblr. The second furry gender was coined on July 4, 2018 by gaymogai on Tumblr.

Flags

The current flag was seemingly designed by Mod Anthroposexual on Beyond-Batpanda-Pride-Flags on Tumblr at the same time of coining. The color meanings are currently unknown.

An alternate flag was presumably designed by gaymogai on July 4, 2018. The color meanings are currently unknown.

Another alternate furrygender flag was designed by Sams Animations on July 8, 2021. The meanings of the color stripes are as follows:

• The uppermost brown stripe represents canine fursonas
• The gray stripe under it represents feline fursonas
• The second to last black stripe represents scalies, avians, and other fursonas
• The last purple stripe represents hybrid and original species fursonas

Controversy

It is possible that this term was coined satirically, but the gender identity was reblogged by serious MOGAI blogs and may have been reclaimed as of now.
