Friendship-oscillating, or plato-oscillating, is a friendship stance that describes an individual whose feelings towards the act or concept of platonic interaction change or fluctuate over time. The term is commonly used aplatonic spectrum individuals, but is not exclusive to this community or platonicity.
Friendship-oscillating individuals may find their feelings regarding platonic interaction changing frequently, potentially several times a day, or infrequently, potentially over the course of years.
Some individuals may feel one way about certain platonic acts, while feeling another way about other platonic acts. The term friendship-ambivalent may be used to describe this experience.
Some individuals may be repulsed by the idea of personally engaging in platonic activity, while feeling favorable or indifferent towards platonic interaction that does not involve them or platonic interaction as a concept. The term friendship-averse may be used to describe this experience.
