Feingender is an umbrella term for all genders which are female in nature (FEIN). It can be used as an umbrella term for any genders that are partially or fully related to womanhood or femaleness. Feingenders may or may not also be related to femininity (fingenders). The term is similar to fiaspec and wifgender.
Feingender can also be used as a gender on its own, referring to a gender in which femaleness is a defining feature or the primary feature, but is not binary female. It's may be used by people who cannot narrow down their gender any more than being related to female, but not a binary woman. The male equivalent is maingender.
History
The term, along with the old flags, was created by Mod Em of the Tumblr blog mogai-monarchs on October 18, 2020.[1] The original flags were created by the same person on May 5, 2021.[2] The new flags were created by Mod Che of the same blog on May 5, 2021.[3]
