Erosmic is a term to describe someone who has identitie(s) which change when participating in sexual activity or ideation. This can include any identity, including sexual orientation, romantic orientation, tertiary attraction, pronouns, name, and amorous identity. In this way it is a counterpart to arousmic which is not exclusive to sex workers or others who engage in sexual content as a service.
History
This label was coined in the second half of 2021 on the now-defunct LGBTA Fandom site by user LilamJazeefa. Its first non-wiki attestation was on the r/Inclusivity subreddit.
Etymology
The name comes from the Greek eros, meaning 'passion' or 'sexual love.'
