    Culparomantic or cuplaromantic is a romantic orientation of feeling romantic and platonic attractions at the same time. This can be described as having a crush and a squish simultaneously.

    This is similar to amicusromantic, platoniromantic, quoiromantic, and idemromantic.

    History

    This term was coined on or before August 30, 2015,[1] the person who coined the term is currently unknown.[2]

    The flag was designed by a Tumblr user who goes/went by Anna.[2]

    The flag color meanings are the following: The light green is the opposite of pink to symbolize the opposite of romantic relationships. The pink symbolizes the romantic attraction. The orange is romance and friendship (pink and yellow) combined. The yellow symbolizes platonic attraction. The purple is the opposite of yellow so it symbolizes the opposite of platonic relationships.

    Etymology

    The prefix “culpa” in Latin means both friendly relationship and intimate relationship.[2]
