Cometgender is a xenogender under the astronomique and sciencegender labels, in which someone feels a strong connection to comets and/or their movement. It is, more specifically "a gender which relates to another gender or one's identity in the way a comet orbits the sun of a solar system: zooming into the solar system, and then out again, usually spending more time out in space than near the center, but always attached to the gravitational field of that sun." It can be combined with other identities to form, for example, cometboy, cometgirl, cometagender, etc.
History
Cometgender was coined on January 6, 2015 by tumblr user artblastside[1]. The flags were created by tumblr user cometgender on November 11, 2019[2].
Flag
The orange represents the “solar system” or gender that cometgender orbits around, the gray represents the comet and the really dark blue/gray represents the “space” that the gender tends to spend its time in.
