Caustigender is a xenogender that feels acidic and gradually dissolves all other genders until it is the only gender, or only fully intact gender remaining.
History
Caustigender was coined by Tumblr user mephitic-malebolge on June 20, 2016.[1]
Flag
The flag was designed by the coiner on the same day of coining.[1] The color meanings are currently unknown.
The first alternate flag is a simplified version of the original and was designed by Mod Hermy on Tumblr account Pride-Color-Schemes on July 31, 2016. The color meanings are described as: "Likely green because it’s the color of acid."[2]
The second flag's designer is currently unknown, but the flag was designed sometime before January 18, 2021.[3] The color meanings are currently unknown.
Etymology
The prefix "causti-" was likely taken from the English word "caustic" which means "able to burn or corrode by chemical action."[4]
