Caligosexual is a sexual orientation on the asexual spectrum in which one feels sexual attraction that is very weak, vague, or almost nonexistent, like a vapor, fog, or mist.
The romantic counterpart is caligoromantic.
History
The term was coined by Tumblr user pride-flags-for-us on or before May 27, 2016.[1] The original flag was created by the same user around the time of coining.
Flags and Symbols
The caligosexual flag was created by Tumblr user terribledactyl on or before July 3, 2016.[2] The muted colors are used to represent mist. The triangle uses the asexual flag colors but with a muted bottom stripe.
An alternate flag was created by FANDOM user Welphereiam on January 6, 2021.[3]
Another alternate flag was created by a user going by Adora on January 6, 2021. The cloud represents the foggy feeling of attraction.[4]
The caligosexual symbol was created by an unknown user on October 27, 2021.
