    The biird flag.

Biird is a type of gender presentation that encompasses having no definitive sex characteristics. Biirds may present androgynously or mix masculine and feminine presentation together, such as having a flat chest and shaved legs. Biirds usually have flamboyant gender neutral sets of clothes based on specific color choices, such as a preferred palette of colors or real life species of birds and their typical flamboyant colorations.

Biird is similar to bear, which encompasses queer masculinity.

    History and Flag

In an article from the Advocate entitled "Who's Who in the Zoo?" from 1979, gay men and lesbian stereotypes were represented with animals.[1] This article is considered the origin of the term bear. One of the animals profiled is the cygnet swan, who is described derisively as fashionable and

always elegant, often beautiful...[They] devote their lives to cultivating perfect bodies and cheap swank.[2]

The term as it is known now and its flag were created by FANDOM user Clear.Skyes on May 1, 2021.
