Arosexual describes a sexual orientation that is connected to a person's aromantic identity. Arosexuals may find that their sexuality is inextricably intertwined with their aromantic identity and experiences, and/or that describing their sexual orientation in relation to their aromanticism is easier or more convenient than describing them as unrelated identities. Some arosexuals may relate to the experiences of some non-SAM aromantics, such as feeling one's aromantic identity is one's most important, the most impactful on one's other identities or overall identity, or feeling that sexuality labels are not as useful or relevant as the aromantic label. Arosexuals may still identify with a sexual orientation in addition to their aromantic identity, and arosexual itself can be considered a sexual orientation.
The romantic counterpart of arosexual is aceromantic.
