Aqueerplatonic (shortened to aqp), aqplatonic, aquaplatonic or aquasiplatonic is a queerplatonic orientation defined by a lack of queerplatonic attraction. Aqueerplatonic experiences may also include not wanting to have a QPR, being indifferent towards aqueerplatonicity, or being repulsed by it. Queerplatonic attraction is defined as the desire to have a relationship (with someone specific) that bends the societal rules for distinguishing platonicity and romance. An aqueerplatonic individual doesn't get aqueerplatonic crushes (also known as a squish, plush, or squash). This label is commonly used by aroace individuals who aren't interested in forming this kind of close bonds, but anyone can identify as aqueerplatonic if they wish to specify their queerplatonic orientation.
History
The term seems to have been in use since at least 2016.[1]

The original aqueerplatonic flag was created by mod Fy through the Tumblr blog beyond-mogai-pride-flags on December 29, 2017.[2] It was then updated by the same user on January 10, 2018.[3]
The aquaplatonic flag was created by Tumblr user alloaro-time on or before January 30, 2021.[4]
