Aponian

Aponian is a diamoric orientation for genderless, agenrine and/or agiaspec individuals who are attracted (exclusively or not) to other genderless individuals. This term can be used by anyone on the genderless spectrum (eg. demiagender, agender woman/man, some bigender and genderfluid individuals, genderflux, etc), as long as one is agenrine and/or agiaspec. This is an umbrella term encompassing all orientations that include genderless Individuals's attraction to other genderless individuals.

Aponian is the genderless counterpart to sapphic, achillean, enbian, and xyric. The agender counterpart to aponian is agenamoric. Aponian is the diamoric term for all genderless individuals whereas agenamoric was made specifically with agender individuals in mind. Agenamoric could be considered to fall under the aponian umbrella.

Gaesexual (ALA): Agender loving agender individuals (exclusively).
Cengrian (AMLAM): Bxys/agender boys/agender men loving bxys/agender boys/agender men (exclusively or not).
Faegrian (AWLAW): Gxrls/agender girls/agender women loving gxrls, agender girls/agender women (exclusively or not).
Delphinian (ALA): Agender/genderless loving agender/genderless individuals (exclusively or not).
Magnolian (ALNB/ALA): Agender/genderless loving non-binary and agender/genderless individuals (exclusively or not).
Geranian (ALW/ALNB/ALA): Agender/genderless loving women, non-binary, and agender/genderless individuals (exclusively or not).
Irisian (ALM/ALNB/ALA): Agender/genderless loving men, non-binary, and agender/genderless individuals (exclusively or not).
Dahlian (ALM/ALW/ALNB/ALA): Agender/genderless loving men, women, non-binary, and agender/genderless individuals (exclusively or not).

Nuumian (NLN): Neutrois loving neutrois individuals (exclusively).

Gendervoid orientations

Eridanian (GVLGV): Gendervoid loving gendervoid individuals (exclusively or not).
Abysic (GVLGV): Gendervoid loving gendervoid individuals (exclusively).
Novanian (GVLM/GVLNB/GVLGV): Gendervoid loving men, non-binary and gendervoid individuals (exclusively or not).

History

The term was coined by Tumblr user Queerness-Lover (Fandom user IIAprionII) on July 7, 2021.^[1] Many of the orientations for agender/genderless individuals were coined by Fandom user Reign of the breadsticcs.^[2] The neutrois and gendervoid orientations (excluding trenchic) were coined by Tumblr user Queerness-Lover on July 23, 2021.^[3]

Flags

The aponian flag was created by Tumblr user Queerness-Lover on July 9, 2021.^[4] The gray represents the genderless part of the term. It appears to mimic the diamoric flag.

The user also created an alternate flag, which was created alongside the original coining on July 7, 2021. The green cross matches the green stripes in the agenrine, agender, and agiaspec flags. The other colors were taken from the gendervoid and other flags.

Etymology

The suffix "apon" comes from the Greek word "apón" meaning "absent", due to the absence of gender.
