Acevague is an a-spec orientation influenced partially or fully by one’s neurodivergence, for example, if autism influences one’s sexual attraction. This may be used as a standalone term, or as a term to encompass the many subsets of orientation effected by specific neurodivergencies.
The romantic equivalent is arovague.
History
Arovague was possibly coined by deactivated Tumblr user dogora before November 30, 2014.[1]
Flag
The acevague flag was coined by DeviantArt user transboy-lou on December 16th of 2016. It was posted for the first time on DeviantArt Pride-Flags on the same date.[2] The flag was based on the asexual flag, with the grey space representing a sense of vague-ness.[3]
The two alternate acevague flags were designed by FANDOM user Reign of the breadsticcs on April 19, 2021, and are based on the asexual flag, with the haze/cloud effect representing vagueness due to neurodivergence.
